Today a stupid comment was said to me in passing that I can't stop dwelling on. Just a few words and my mind can't stop thinking about it. The thing is, these words said by a friend questioned something that is important to me. That person doesn't know what they are talking about, yet a few choice words and I doubt everything that I thought before. Why do other people's opinions matter so much to any of us? It's amazing how much time and energy we spend thinking about what other people are thinking about us. It's this uncomfortable feeling that we are so used to, we become comfortable with it and we let ourselves believe that it's okay to feel that way. I say screw it
