On a fine Monday evening for absolutely no reason at all I felt absolutely crappy. Which really has nothing to do with the story except to show what was on my mind which was “Gee, I’m really messed up.”
On that same Monday evening, around 10:15 pm, I was in need of bacon for the Newspaper BLT party the following day. And so I ventured back into the world of the late night Wal-Mart scene.
Now, when I said that I thought the 11:30 pm crowd was weird I didn’t realize that it was simply what was left over from the 10:30 pm crowd.
Bacon was 2 16oz packages for $5 and I couldn’t decide if I needed two or not so I stood there in the cold foods department with one package of bacon in my left hand and another package of the exact same kind of bacon in my right and I stared at them for a good 5 minutes before I decided that I only needed one. I looked up to see that multiple 10:30 pm Wal-Mart goers had nothing better to do then to stand around and watch me decide. As if they thought it was easy or something.
Bacon in hand, I headed to the electronic department to pick my little brother up a T.V. cable for the T.V. he got for his 8th grade graduation. As I headed off a immensely tall guy rounds the corner at mach 2 nearly sending me and the bacon sprawling on the ground. Lucky he sidestepped-spinmoved me and avoided a collision.
While I was in the electronic department looking for cable alarm clocks kept going off. So, I figured that it was my responsibility to hit the snooze. Two late night Wal-Mart punks gave me a weird look when, with bacon in my left hand, I hit the snoozes of the clocks with my right hand.
Let me take this opportunity to remind all of our two readers that there are many who think that a nerf war is coming. Some have already tried to start one. The have been casualties on both sides. What I am about to tell the world is true. This is the time to be prepared for that war.
And so, with bacon and T.V. cable in hand I headed off to the nerf section to stock up on extra darts for the 6 shooter that I acquired the other day. As I rounded the corner I stumbled upon a small family shopping. The two little kids were running up and down the aisle and the younger parents were dry humping by their cart.
I quickly gathered my darts and proceeded to the check out and I thought about how I felt like I was messed up when I arrived at Wal-Mart and as I left I chuckled to myself and thought:
Thank God I’m not one of those freaks that goes to Wal-Mart late at night because then I would really be messed up.

More Quotes...sorry me lovey quotes
"In a full heart there is room for everything, in an empty heart there is room for nothing."
-Antonio Porchia
"There will always be those who condemn you for taking a risk or doing something that the world might say is in bad taste, but then again, the world probably thought that the three wise men were complete idiots for choosing to follow a star in the sky. If you never risk doing something in bad taste, you will have a very limited repertoire of experience and a very limited life." -Pastor William R. Grimbol
"For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven: a time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up what is planted; a time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; a time to weep; and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; a time to seek and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away; a time to keep silence and a time to speak; a time for war, and a time for peace. What gain has the worker from his toil? I have thought about this is connection with various kinds of work God has given people to do. God has made everything beautiful for its own time. He has planted eternity in the human heart, but even so, people cannot see the whole scope of God's work from beginning to end."
-Ecclesiastes 3:1-11

I love junior year
Summer is practiccally upon us my friends and the days are done, we are countin the hours til its summer. Waiting for the days where we either work 12 hour days or lay around and do absolutely nothing. Forget about the future, the past, the finals we bombed, the parents we pissed off, the clothes we stole from our sisters, the annoying dogs who chewed up our power cords, and the money we don't have. And we can just hang out with our friends, driving around wasting gas, trying to find something to do. These are the prime of our lives. And really, right now we either have nothing or everything. We supposedly have nothing to worry about when we're young, but have everything to live up to.
But who cares? Forget about philosophy, grades, stupid stupid stupid stupid stupid things. Its almost freakin summer
And heres a quote:
The most beautiful discovery true friends make is that they can grow separately without growing apart. ~Elisabeth Foley
That ones dedicated to my senior friends. :) We may not always have each other in our lives, but we'll always have the memory of this year in our hearts.
Cheesy enough for ya?
I love junior year.

The 11:00pm world of Wal-nothing
I awoke this evening at 11:00 pm to find my homework unfinished and the eggs that was responsible for bringing to the breakfast we are making for the seniors in choir tomorrow unfetched.
There is virtually nowhere to go for eggs at 11:00 pm, nowhere except Wal-Mart.
You lose part of your soul when you got to Wal-Mart during the 11:00 pm hour. You can go after midnight and keep your soul intact and you can go before 11:00 pm. But should you going during the 11 ‘o clock hour then you find yourself with all the other lost bastards in a swirling world filled with so much nothing, and yet at the same time, so much something.
I shall tell you what I saw.
I saw a woman in business attire with a half-filled cart mumbling to herself as she wondered through the lost world of Wal-nothingness. I saw the lost night owls searching for their Vaults, their Monsters, and their Red Bulls (or Frapachinos for the more refined lost night owl). I saw Tim Sporsec. I saw a random lost woman who looked at me funny while I proudly marched through the nothing with 36 eggs. Yes, and I looked right back at her as if to say “I have 36 eggs and there’s not a thing you can do about it.” And she backed off. It felt good to march away with my eggs knowing I had been victorious over the demon of nothing.
I don’t know if I’ll ever be the same again.

Of All The Things I Believed In
As we get older, our ability to believe in something seems to flicker away while defending our belief system seems to become more important. Faith. For something that is so beautiful, it can bring out the ugliest in some people.
Most teenagers are hard headed and don't want to admit that someone else is right when they are dead set on just one particular answer. But that is just the thing, when it comes to faith there seems to be no just one answer. What if what we were brought up to believe is wrong? What if some traditions should be forgotten because they were started in a world completely opposite than the world we live in now?
If you are wondering where my place in religion is, its that I don't know. Brought up a Catholic, went to Religious Education classes and now I go to a Catholic school. The Catholic religion is great, however I have found myself turned off from it. I don't want to condem it, its just that its such a strong religion, how dare I call myself a Catholic when I don't go to church every week, don't believe in Reconciliation, basically, don't follow the rules? I don't think its fair, I think its fake. For me anyway. Also I think its crap when I see my classmates, people who I know do not follow the ways of the Catholic church, receive the Body of Christ at our school masses, when they aren't necessarily worthy of it. Everyone's worthy to recieve it, but according to the Catholic church, if you haven't gone to mass on Sunday or if you've sinned and not confessed those sins to a priest you shouldn't be receiving the eucharist. I may not like the rules of the church, but at least I respect them.
There are other things I disagree with greatly, such as marriage/divorce, suicide, hell, and women's role in the church, but I don't want to post them because, religion is always a touchy subject. And I know my theories are not right for everyone, maybe only for me, so I don't want to shove all my ideas down people's throats if it'll offend them. If you really want to know, you could ask me.
I am not a religious person, because I don't know if I believe in organized religion. I'm a spiritual person. I believe in faith, I believe in God, I believe in the good of people, and most importantly, I believe in following your heart. And I think that if you do what you want in your life, surround yourself with people you love, and believe in your dreams, you've found your heaven. And isn't that all we're looking for anyway?

Immodest proposal
In Jonathan Swift’s “A Modest Proposal” Swift suggests (or proposes) that there would be less poor people if the poor people ate their babies.
His logic was that by eating the babies the poor people would have less to worry about; they would have fewer mouths to feed and also more food to feed them with. Eating babies would also lower poverty because there would be less poor people. Less poor babies equals less poor adults.
I thought that we could apply the same type of logic to the Social Security problem. Once again a problem is being created by a large population of one type of people. I say to fix the Social Security system we should eat baby boomers.
Less baby boomers means less retirees draining the system. We could even set up restraints where we sell menu items like fried baby boomer, baby boomer pizza and baby boomer a flambé. We could take the profits from these restraints and put them into the Social Security trust fund.
This would probably solve problems with Medicare too.

Recognition (of the bitter reality of life and people moving on) Day
We’ve been denying it and denying it and denying it but we can deny it no longer: our seniors are leaving us. All of our two readers that are high school juniors and also share the same high school my web counterpart and I experienced, today, a cold slap in the face by reality commonly know as Recognition day.
This is the day when the graduating class is gathered together for one last school assembly to be recognized for their accomplishments.
This, in past years, has been the point when we realize that the seniors are leaving the school and are not planning to return.
Freshman year it was relatively painless; sophomore year it we were more aware and slightly sad; this year I was welling up. I can only imagine that it was bittersweet for the seniors, probably more sweet than bitter.
Luckily for me many of my closest friends are not going away for college, they are staying in the general vicinity. Others, plan to get the hell out; I don’t really blame them; that doesn’t mean they won’t be missed.
Mostly for the juniors I think, whether we had senior friends or not, it was the first time that we realized that from here on out there’s only us, there’s only this, forget regret because life is ours to miss.
But there is still time left.
Let us take a lesion from 19th century German philosopher/anti-Christ Friedrich Nietzsche who says “We should consider every day lost on which we have not danced at least once. And we should call every truth false which was not accompanied by at least one laugh.”
Basically, I think he means that we should not waste our time with petty things and enjoy ourselves. Also, we should dance *ahem*.
My point is, let us not waste the time we have.
